This spring we contracted DMS Landscaping and Hardscaping to install hardscaping to improve the outward appearance of our home. Dave Stern made a number of suggestions for improving the front entrance area, steps and planters, including the installation of lighting.( I wasn’t convinced that lighting was necessary but trusted Dave to make the ‘right call’- turns out it was!). Dave is an Engineer by training-a professional- and he worked with us to achieve the improvements within a reasonable budget. The work was completed very quickly and the DMS crew was great! They were very polite and attentive throughout the job to ensure that we were satisfied with the outcome. They cleaned up after the job (very important to us!). We love the ‘end result’ -enhanced and more ” integrated ” appearance to the steps and planters, new solid and safe steps, more “street appeal” and no doubt, better resale value! My wife Jeanne and I had been looking to rework our front entrance, which included replacing a cracked sidewalk, covering the front steps with pavers and decreasing the sidewalk slope to the street. We had been looking for ideas for more than a year and had found some front entrance ideas from Palm Springs California, as well as some house entrance renovations in Saskatoon. It was not until we were visiting some friends that we found the paver stones we liked and it turned out that they had recently had their driveway and front steps upgraded with paving stones by DMS Landscaping. I phoned Dave (owner) and he said he would stop by and give us an idea of what could be done. We were pleasantly surprised how quick & efficient everything was completed. He gave us a quote along with some great ideas. Dave and or Carrie (Dave’s wife) were on site at all times and they and their crew had a work ethic that would be difficult to match. The project was completed during a particularly hot stretch of weather (27-30C) each day. The crew would start between 7:00-7:30 a.m. and wrap up around 5:00 p.m. each day. Dave and Carrie were very knowledgeable and had many ideas that they consulted us on. They always had us approve larger sections, pillars etc before they glued them down. They wanted to make sure things were placed and positioned exactly were we wanted them. Dave also took care of moving sprinkler heads and filling in with sod were needed. From start to finish, everything went very smoothly and we are exceptionally pleased with our new front entrance. It is absolutely stunning and with the accent LED lighting, that Dave suggested, we couldn’t be happier.

We had a number of issues with our existing yard infrastructure that needed to be fixed as they were causing ongoing damage to our home. Dave gave us a detailed assessment of what needed to be done to remediate the area and a quote that worked within our budget. We were One of Dave and his team’s last jobs for the 2015 season was our October project. This included a new backyard patio, front driveway, re-laying an existing front patio, front sidewalk and back sidewalk. In addition they also installed new underground sprinklers in the back yard.
Despite the chilly mornings and the race against the weather, DMS Landscaping did this huge project in a week. Watching them work was a bit like watching ants work tirelessly on their house. They certainly were a team with everyone contributing.

We echo the positive comments of You and your Crew! We would like to add how much we appreciated Dave and his Crew’s personal touch. We had been living in our partially finished ‘Bran new build Home for about 2 months amid the muck and mounds of debris that accumulated with a particularly wet, blustery June; (car stuck in the muck and tripping endlessly over various pieces of plywood and such from other contractors just to get to the front step!).

Soon after, Dave and his crew completed our extensive driveway, and walkways, with planter box’s and front steps, this was all done in a lovely “Heritage” tumbled stone. Late fall this year I came across DMS Landscaping, via the Internet as we were looking for someone to take on our project. We were building a home on an infill lot and we wanted a large raised interlocking brick patio and walkway. We interviewed lots of other contractor. The prices and specs we got were WAY out to lunch.
